Olympiastadion Berlin

As every stadium owner knows the biggest challenges are maintaining commercial success and keeping up with constantly developing technologies providing spectators with unrivalled experience at world class events. Since its reopening in 2004 the new Olympiastadion Berlin has been celebrated as a “Five-Star-Stadium”.

In April 2005 the European Union of Football Associations (UEFA) officially named the Olympiastadion Berlin to the list of “Five- Star-Stadia” – the highest ranking possible for all stadiums in Europe. Football, as the number one sport, played the biggest role in 2006. Highlighting the football history at the Olympiastadion Berlin was the FIFA World Cup 2006, when six games of the tournament were played there.

That is why we want to show you the overlay project completed at the Olympiastadion Berlin and explain key strategies to achieve economical sustainability after major international events like FIFA World Cup.

This is a unique opportunity to understand the challenges faced by stadium owners and see the outstanding work of the architects so make sure you secure your place and register for the site visit as part of your summit package!

Site Visit hosted by Joachim Thomas, Managing Director, Olympiastadion Berlin and Markus Pfisterer, Director, gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner.
